WTB: Pink eggs for hatching under broody

I'd love to add a few pink egg layers to my backyard flock. I've got a broody hen, so time is of the essence. If you have around 6 eggs from pinky layers, please let me know what you'd like for them. Thanks.

    WTB cinnamon queen hatching eggs

I have a broody buff orpington and I'd like to get eggs under her asap. I know they aren't very sexy, but my preference is to add some cinnamon queens (Silver Laced Wyandotte x New Hampshire) to my flock for reliable egg production. Anybody got 6 of those? If so, how much, and when can you...

    Minnesota!

Hi from Scandia, about 15 miles north of Stillwater. We have some surprise chicks -- Salmon Faverolle x Buff Cochin. The Faverolle laid eggs behind a bush (but didn't set) and since we had a very broody Cuckoo Maran hen, we gave her the eggs to hatch. She did a fab job and we now have 5...

My cat got both of my chicks

Oh, how frustrating and awful. Could've happened to me, certainly. The cat was always trying to get into the room with the incubator and brooder.

1 hatched, rolling around the other eggs in 'bator

I've got 17 eggs in a LG. I took the turner out a day ago. Today, one of the eggs hatched. The chick is still wet after several hours (is this normal?) and as it stumbles around trying to get her footing, it's bumping into the other eggs and I'm worried it'll damage them. What say you, more...

    MN/WI Swap and Chickenstock 16-MAY-2009

I'd love it this. May 9 is tough for me, though. Would May 2 or May 10 be possibilities? If not, I'll still try to get there. I really appreciate you organizing and hosting!

    Ordering from My Pet Chicken

I ordered 8 day-olds last fall from MPC (I'm in MN). All were alive, healthy and correctly sexed. Go, MPC!

Last fall, I ordered 8 chicks (they came with a heat pack). All were healthy and happy -- and still are.

i never thought my own dog would fall into this category (UPDATED PG.8

I have a blue heeler, and she is very motion-activated. Chickens moving slowly...okay. Chickens startled by curious dog...shriek-barking and lunging chaos! Blue heelers are bred to herd. Some have very strong prey drive. Virtually all of them I've met are challenging (though rewarding) dogs...

    unkown death of chicken

I'm sorry you lost a chicken. Some predators like mink get chickens at the neck and just break them sometimes, so obvious marks or blood might not show. And they might not carry off the chicken either. Not sure how exposed she was to predators, though.

    Why did my Chicken die?

It's awful to find a dead chicken. I'm sorry. We just found a dead chicken in the coop this morning. As it is the third in 6 months (all hens about a year old), I decided to take her for a necropsy to make sure this wasn't something that was affecting my whole flock. The vet pathologist told...
