    Barred Rocks ROCK! No questions about that! I grew up around them and I used to have one that actually rode on the back of my saddle when I rode my horses. Now I live in Oakland and my favorite chickens which come out to greet me every morning are the Plymouth Barred and the Brahmas! Love them!

    I have one tiny 'lil brown silky hen which I hatched underneath an old broody RIR hen last spring. But I'll tell ya, That 'lil silky girl bosses all 30 RIR's, buffys, coppers, plymouths, leghorns,and brahmas around all day long! I want more! They are absolutely ADORABLE!
