After hearing your news with the ordered chicks I’m overjoyed that my hatching eggs arrived today as I expected. I would have hated to have lost them.

    4-H Help Needed!

Contact your county agent. Sometimes if your club does not have a leader for a specific project you can participate in project meetings with a project leader from a different club.

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Al Beautiful birds. My kids are only doing 4h at this point but the meat birds at county fair this year were just horrible looking. It was enough to put someone off chicken as a food source. I showed them your birds and they could not believe they were of the same species.

    Black Panther

My father accidentally locked a mountain lion in the garage the Friday after Thanksgiving. He got a surprise when he started his car and it poked it head out from behind the sacks of seed and fertilizer by the shelving. At least we don’t think it let itself in.

Could someone PLEASE tell me the difference between straw and hay??

I can’t believe the price of hay. I saw an ad on Craigslist for hay at $10.00 a bale and $10.50 a bale delivered. Just a year ago we could get it for between $6.00 and $7.00 a bale depending on quality.

Here are a couple of sites that give info on mountain lions. I pasted what the sites had for what they eat. Mountain lions like to prey on deer, though they also eat smaller animals such as coyotes, porcupines, and raccoons. http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/mountain-lion/...

Is there any difference between BOSS and the striped sunflower seeds? (Oil content or something?)

    Black Panther

It is hard to say from the picture, but I would not count out a panther. We had a mountain lion on the back part of our property last weekend curled up in a ball sleeping. Our neighbor thought it was a hurt deer or dog until she was about 10 feet from it and it uncurled itself. Sometimes it is...
