Do you breed GP regularly? I ask because I'd really love to have a source for when my husband agrees to get another one. I currently have a 7 yo GP / Anatolian neutered male who looks like a GP.
Hello All! I am writing to find other Muscovy breeders that would be able to sell & ship either 1 or 2 Muscovy drakes or male ducklings to me in Alaska. For the first time since I started raising them, I find my self without a drake. I don't want to go locally as most of them are from 3 of us...
I wish we had that problem here in S Alaska. I lost my favorite drake last year and now have to find a replacement. Unfortunately, there aren't many of us that have Muscovies and those that do are related!😥
I also would love to free range mine, but have too many aerial predators and now with...
Would you mind sharing your pattern with us? Please? I am NOT a seamstress, & do everything (poorly!) by hand, but I don't suppose these would have to be pretty.🤷♀️ I think they might help my husband who will be learning how to butcher the birds...while I hide inside!
I'm so sorry! I had my Pilgrim hen do the same thing...sit on dud eggs! Her first real attempt at hatching any. (I don't even believe any of them were fertile!😔) I finally get a gander (the last one we had ended up being a white female of some mixed breed, though we were told it was a Pilgrim...
I have a GP / Anatolian cross that a groomer shaved w/o permission and now I have a terrible time with his coat! Don't shave them...get a kiddy pool for them & be sure to have shade. They are worth the extra effort.
Do you have special pens built for them inside? I have had chickens & ducks inside briefly (babies in containers, injured birds) but never a full grown goose! Now I'm interested...please share your ideas!😁
My Pilgrim goose has laid a bunch of eggs, (the new gander is in with her) but is not sitting on them. The eggs have been sitting in the nest for at least 5 days, and I'm wondering if I should bother trying to incubate them at this point?
Thanks for your time.
