I would like to start feeding my mixed flock, (chickens, ducks, a goose, and a turkey,) fermented feed. I've researched the topic thoroughly, and feel confident to start the process. Except...
I currently feed pellets free choice. Feeders are filled in the morning enough to last through the...
I have an egg bound chicken. Researching treatment suggests a dose of calcium to start off. I have bone meal powder, human grade.
1 Teaspoon contains:
1,300mg Calcium
440 mg Phosphorus
15 mg Magnesium
Will this work? And if so, does anybody have a dosing suggestion?
Thank you.

She has a single comb.
She was one of 8 out of 100 who made it alive to a local feed store. She's one of 4 who made it with me. I don't know which hatchery she's from, but it was in NM, so Maybe Privett.
Thanks!
I have a Hedemora, a single chick that hatched from 12 eggs ordered, so that's the very first thing I thought of! But, I'm not finding yellow skin/legs in them, and I'm just not sure that they'd likely be with what look to be hatchery birds. And, being a landrace, I just don't know...
This guy was among a group of otherwise generic looking EE/OE roosters who were dumped last week. Wondering if anybody might wager a guess on what in the world he is? He has very "silkied" feathers, but doesn't look like he has any actual Silkie in him otherwise.
TIA
Thank you for your reply. Both houses are in a ridiculously large fenced in area, but fencing off the original house isn't really an option. I can keep the door closed though.
So with that being said, do you think that keeping them inclosed in the new house for a day, and restricting access to...
I have a bachelor flock of 20. They are penned within the area that my mixed flock frequents. They are fine. Rarely, an introduction is stressful for the new rooster for more than a day or two. Once, I tried to add a rooster who just was too freaked out to manage himself properly and stuffed...
Hello.
I have just, (tonight,) moved my flock from their old house in which they've all lived their entire life, to a new one that's maybe 100 feet away. The original house is going to stay as it is, and will house a couple goats. The chickens will continue to have access to the area where the...
A chicken group I'm in is having a fun little "guess the breed" game at the moment. I posted this picture of my East Frisian Gull. One of the guesses for her was Campine. They are remarkably similar chickens! I can't find anything that really points out the differences of these breeds. I swear...
I don't think they have barnyard mixes per se, but I do remember some special deal that can include "project birds" he's working on, so maybe... But also maybe he didn't come from there. I've ordered twice from them and have been really happy with my birds. The downside is the minimum order...
