I read that you can hold eggs at between 55-75 degrees for up to a week and still have a decent hatch. I was wondering if anyone can vouch for that here ?
I would add some roosts in the run and buy some crickets at your local bait shop fpr treats. They will get so excited chasing the crickets around they will forget about cannabilizing , plus the crickets are good protein.
Your best bet is to get rid of the hot water thermostat and order a gqf wafer therm. It is only a few dollars more but will hold your temps within 1 degree and no surprise variations.
I am new to BYC but have really enjoyed the info here. Hope to learn a little about raising our fine feathered friends . I live in N. Alabama and am 56 years old. Ready to go back to my roots with farm life and chickens!
