I just found a site that sells saddles and they have "Predator Eye Decals" to put on them. Has anyone tried these and had any luck?

Has anyone ever tried dyeing your chickens to protect them from hawks? I saw this article online and thought it might be a cool idea if it works. The logic behind the idea is that if your chicken is the color of poisonous prey (like brightly colored frogs) the hawk will avoid them...
My roo is a red EE and three of the chicks are from a barred rock hen and her chicks are sex linked in that the boys have to white dot and the one pullet doesn't. :)
I had a barred rock roo who never raised a hackle to anyone in the family but would get aggressive with strangers. He made wonderful dressing. Since then I have gotten a red EE roo who has never done anything even slightly aggressive to anyone. The difference is wonderful.
They see you as roos. Since you are the only roos left you are suddenly at the top of the pecking order. When you approach them they assume it is to mate and they are submitting to be mounted. When you set them back down on the ground do they shake their feathers out then walk off?
My festus is just over a year old. In all his life he has never so much as raised a hackle at any person at all. He is a beautiful red EE who carries the blue egg gene though he is a little small. Since I am hatching eggs (the best reason to have a roo) for layers and meat I wish he were a...
The roo would have to be over a year old so that I would know that it was a sweetheart and not aggressive and not prone to attacking kids. He would have to be absolutely beautiful. And, because I want a roo for breeding purposes he would have to be exactly the breed/size I was looking for. And...
The first time our hen went broody this summer I thought "She is so great." The second time I was saying "She is really serious about this." The third time I was "OMGosh get over it already."
I kicked her out of the nest every day when I gathered eggs and made sure she ate and drank. She came...
I currently have 1 week and 2 week old keets in a brooder and I was wondering how long do I need to keep them under a heat lamp before I can move them to an outside pen? Mornings have been damp and chilly lately.
My broody does such a good job protecting her chicks that she will steal other hen's chicks. I guess she thinks all babies belong to her. Three times she has been broody this year and raised all three sets of babies. My avatar is of her and her second batch.
Also, candling is something you do after you have started incubating to check embryo development. If you gather eggs every day and you store your eggs at room temp or cooler then your eggs can't start to develop and there is no need to candle.
