No vets in the area for quail. Could have flushed and I am just unaware, but roof is only up about 12 inches or so, so would be odd to have hit hard? -

Quail Size differences at almost 2 weeks old

Do I need to use a dish with marbles and water or is my Quail Waterer 1.5 cm trough sufficient to prevent drowning of quail chicks in the brooder? Nervous. -

@Nabiki that is cool. I may need to use it again as the foam didn't work at all...they pulled it out. I am keeping an eye on them and will keep your strategy on hand as a work around. -

@maxride14 - that is awesome...I was stressed for you too and waiting for the update. Great job!!! I just had to open my incubator because I had a chick stuck in the space where the turning mechanism is for my egg turner (which is disconnected of course) I am at 3 hatchlings of probably 8-10... -

I had a quail chick get caught in the space/trough where the mechanism is for the turner (I have a roller-style turner). I waited for some time, but it was stuck and it wasn't getting out on its own. I had to lift the lid and gently nudge it out and I had cut a piece of foam which I jammed in... -

@maxride14 We had a hatchling this morning when we woke up. We were hatching Coutournix and they did make a late arrival...well, we have two now of 14 eggs none of which did I candle. Here is a video and a pic of the first two...it was a long wait to day 19 and we thought we would at least see...
