Kitty - Welcome! You're weather is much more extreme than mine but I'll be more than happy to give any help if you need it.
You're Winter's are nice but boy, those Summer's are way too hot for me.
Hi Jewellen and Welcome! Honestly you really don't need to worry too much with your birds. They...
Hi kmollyhughes - I have Sunny's BCMs and none of them are egg eaters. But I'm hearing a lot of people are having issues with egg eaters right now. I had issues a couple of years ago but fixed it when I changed the feed. I learned chickens will eat their eggs looking for Lysine and Methionine...
Thank you, Kim. How have you been? I keep thinking about you and trying to figure out when I can come down there to meet up with you, it's almost a weekly thing right now! lol
You and me both! An egg didn't break inside her, she had an egg stuck, I couldn't reach it with anything I tried. The mixed yolk was another egg that released from her while the first egg was stuck. I couldn't get the vinegar wash to it either to stop it because of that egg.
Everyone loved...
Candy - 3 people are hatching her eggs right now and I'm going to put her last egg and the 2 eggs Amanda and Wilma are laying right now under my broody. She was super sweet and happy. I'm sorry I wasn't able to save her.

The yellow dripping has stopped now so I know the egg moved. She looks really good right now. I put the KY in her vent tonight to help her along and she's getting another bath if she hasn't laid the egg by morning. I'll do the vinegar wash as soon as she gets the egg out. I'm really hoping she...
Candy - Wilma is doing great. Betty is eggbound right now and we're doing our best to help her get it out. Betty laid a big egg 2 days ago and yesterday she stayed in the coop, which I thought was strange and I kept checking on her. This morning she was under the coop standing there. I picked...
I'm in need of the darkest fertile FBCM eggs available. I have someone with a broody, not to mention mine going broody full time yesterday, and I NEED eggs. HELP!
mommy2me - I do not know that breed very well but honestly I would keep it until I see an egg or hear a crow. There are people who will take roosters but not many. We have meet ups in Reno monthly and such, and there's always craigslist. To me, it looks like a pullet because I do not see any...
