Ours is simple just plain Haag's Farm...It's our last name.
But....my maiden name is Italian (Lalli) and we were going to name the farm Llalli Llama Farm. Then we added cows, chickens geese ....oh well!
Last week while I out in the back yard an American Bald Eagle swooped down and came about 3 feet from our Goose and Gander! yikes! That scared me! What did i do? I put them away in their goose house. They free range all day. Before the night comes we put them away.

Well, here's a larger photo so you can see the eggs better. The tiny eggs at the bottom are unfertilized parakeet and love bird eggs. All the rest are my goose and chicken eggs.

Yes, I blow them out first.
I use my dremel power tool with a tiny drill bit. I make 2 holes. when al the egg and yoke are out, I soak them in soap/bleach water. Then I take a think woodem skewr and poke in in a piece of styrofoam and put the eggs on that to dry.

If your hens are not laying yet and it's just a weekend I'd triple up on feed and water, and just have someone come in and peek at them to see if they are OK. ( providing they are in a safe spot)
When we go way . I have our son, go over everyday, get the eggs, and do what needs to be done...
Yes, My chickens lay in only 3 out of 7. boxes. Sometimes this creates a problem because a few eggs might get cracked. Once a few are laid, my silkie runs and hops in the box and stays there until we come and get the eggs. Then the other hens will use another box. Then, another silkie will get...
Gee Becky, I'd put them in a big Toitlet paper box and wire on the top with the heat lamp on that. I'd really make sure your brooder is extra sanitized before putting them back in. Good luck.
