first off, i feel horribly for you that you are dealing with this problem and that your chickens are as well...but i am shocked at the number of people saying to shoot the dog...yes it would solve your problem but the poor dog is only doing what instinct tells it to do...i'd prefer the owner was...
honestly - now that you ask that, i have no reason why we would raise it...it just seemed to be that all of the coops i've seen were raised...but it does make more sense for insulation purposes to not have it raised...we're in NJ so it does get cold here...
sorry to jump on this topic - if the chickens are already in the coop, i wouldn't think that the paint fumes would be good for them...but i definitely don't want to leave them out in their run all night...what would you suggest? and if you are going to say that they definitely can't stay in the...
We currently have 5 chickens (about 3 months old) in an old custom-made wooden playhouse we've "converted" to a coop. We have a pen we place them in during the day but as of yet haven't renovated the coop much (besides adding roosts) so they are not connected and we have to go out and put them...
Purchased from a breeder yesterday but she wasn't sure which this was...she has both and she said she can't tell them apart at this age (around 3 months)...can you help this newbie out? we got 5 chicks total so there are others in the pics since they seem to "group" together...
thanks everyone! and i called the township today - and found out there are NO ordinances about chickens at all! the lady who i spoke to told me that she had them and as long as they are clean and the neighbors aren't complaining about the noise, there are no issues! woohoo!
Hi - my husband is set on having chickens in our backyard (whether legal or illegal) but we're still trying to find out if they are legal here or not. I am trying to avoid calling the township because I don't want to call attention to it if it is illegal - and I can't find the information...
