    My chicken can't walk! help!

duck, my sick hen is not so bad today she was walking a little bit outside with the other hens. I completely agree that there are situations when you have to cull, but I'm hoping this won't be one. Last night I let Duck sleep in the coop, in a nesting box away from the other hens. I was so...

    My chicken can't walk! help!

We keep hens in Boston, MA and they are more like pets now than livestock. Also although we have six hens we only get about 2 eggs a day. at least two of my hens aren't laying but I think it's mostly because they just finished molting. We have chicken tractor which is what Duck went in all day...

    mysterious missing feathers (no Rooster)

The hens never slowed down egg production. But some of them only started to lay during the winter. Also there was another hen that is not mentioned because a few weeks ago she had be put down. We are thinking it may have been a weasel. But she was the same breed, size and practically everything...

    mysterious missing feathers (no Rooster)

If it was a mini molt wouldn't the chickens who started to lose feathers first, have grown back their feathers? I think it was boredom because this past winter was pretty bad and the door to the run ended up six feet under the snow drifts. But how do you get chickens to regrow their feathers...
