I only have 3 pullets. It ain't been real cold here, YET. Have had frost 5 times so far. That is a lot for this early in these North Florida woods.
I am getting 2-3 eggs almost every day.
The second batch of 11 eggs from my 3 pullets have hatched. 9 of the 11 hatched, one got its nose down in the waterer and drowned.
I put the 8 out in the brooder with the 4 from last week. They are doing well.
BTW the 2 white chicks from last week are still all white, no other colors yet.
Hey Peoples. been several days since I had anything to say. Sometimes I go a week or more not saying things. Of course I live alone way in the backwoods of North Florida and don't get to town much.
Anyway I my 3 pullets have been laying for a couple months or so, I put some eggs in the...
Well I sure hope they get healed up soon.

Got some pictures this morning, one week old today, wing growth.

I have 66 assorted chicken eggs...
Thanks, The LazyQ is from when my Son and I use to build trailer mounted Barbecue pits. I put a gas burner in them and you could use that to help do the cooking and you used wood for smoke. They called it Lazy Que. When I tried to use "Big Jim" as my name here they wouldn't let me so I used...
As promised, here is the strawberry Blond. Don't look as strawberry as when wet. From the hairdo looks like might be crested. When I came in from feeding what critters the wildlife has been kind enough not to eat before I got the survivors penned and a new Guard pup installed. There was another...
About 25 years ago I got an infection in my left foot. I am also diabetic, that resulted in a below knee amputation. About 7 years ago my house burned down,
I stepped on a nail with my right foot while cleaning up the mess and that got infected. They cut that leg off below the knee too. That...
I mentioned before that the eggs I got from Betharrived in good shape except for one that was crushed. I let them sit over night and p[ut in the incubator on Tuesday the 25. When I candled them at 10 days I found one that was cracked on
the bottom, I also found 4 clears. I took them out and fed...
Hey Frugalists.
I been needing a handle or knob to pull my chicken coop doors open with. Something easier than sticking my old numb finger in the wire and pulling the door open.
So I got to thinking about a cheap way to do it.
Then I remembered something my Grandfather did 65 years ago...
