I think she meant the new jars/with lids I bought were Kerr jars and the new lids they come with are somehow not strong enough for pressure canning.
But I bought a box of Ball lids and used them on my new jars and I haven't had any more problems.

Nailed 1 with the car windshield once (once was enough). THere are red headed and blackheaded around this area. No problems with the red 1s killing live animals but the blackheaded 1's will kill. They will pick out the eyes of newborn calves and wait till they die.
heres how I can mine:
I pressure cook them long enough for skins to come off and them cool them in cold water
cut in size of chunks you prefer and put in mason jars
cover with syrup and seal jars
Syrup:
8 cups sugar
4 cups vingar
2 1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cup beet juice from...

You can freeze it.
Be sure you do not mash or it will be too dense and it would put you at a risk for botulism.
If you're using a skillet with a lid, just add a dab of water in the skillet and cover it till its done. The water will steam cook the top w/o cooking the yolks;)
