We are doing okey. This is a old picture. One of the Leghorns died during a hurricane but everyone else is fine. She went to come down off the roast and a big gust of wind slammed her into the shed and broke her neck. The one that looks like a Gold Campine died of old age. I had her for about 12...
Mimi the goose has turned out to be Marvin, but protects the flock just the same! 25 ladies and 2 roos free roam any day it's not storming here in Ohio. Hoping to add a few young ladies this spring, but still deciding if I want the extra work of chicks this year. Any suggestions of cool new...
We got 1 1/2" of rain last night... and more rain on the way. I hope I can get a short break from rain long enough to change a contactor on a cardboard baler which is out in the open.

For anyone freaking about broad breasted white turkeys and gmo (because it's almost impossible to find organic feed)... You can really feed them whatever you...
I follow your posts regularly. The latest one on egg eaters has been very helpful. I have 19 hens and 4 roosters one of which will be dinner soon. I also have 2 hens that are brooding. One hen is brooding in the favorite nesting box so she is chased off every time someone else wants to lay. LOL 🐓
Finally had energy to work on my book a bit more. I'm stuck again right now, I don't want to have so many small time skips, but I feel like at this point, I'm kinda just padding what I'm writing. But I got a dozen or so paragraphs written before I crashed last night that still make sense this...
How old are my chicks? And when can I stop using a heat lamp? I think they are 5 weeks old. The temps at night are in the 60s and the days are upper 70s, low 80s.
