I feel your pain on the ration. I started with 7 silkies this year....2 white, 3 buff and 2 black. One white turned out to be a cockerel, at least two of the buffs are cockerels and one of the black. I have 3 girls out of 7, if I"m lucky. Really only wanted silkies for brooding chicks this...
Based on the size of that comb, plus the streamers in the crest, I'd say roo and both the white and the partridge. :) I'm really surprised they're not crowing already, based on the size of their combs. How old are they?
Thanks a bunch! That really helps me with my own 2-month-old silkies. I was LEANING in that direction, since two of my buffs and one of my blacks have significant sickle feathers and the others don't. A couple have the beginning of a comb but nothing outrageous and several already have streamers.
I'd say roo on the partridge for sure, between the mulberry comb and the streamers. QUESTION: For silkie tail feathers, do the roos usually have more "true" tail feathers (sickle shaped) whereas the female are mainly pom-pom tails with minimal feathers?
