i've got a chicken coop, that i think i'd like to build a "hoop coop" around... but have chicken wire along the bottom, and like the bird netting along the upper areas.
so that i could grow plants in it, out the reach of always-hungry mouths.
i add some fodder ever other day for them, in a small bowl... which they demolish pretty quickly, seeds and all.
i try to give them bsfl (black soldier fly larvae) every day, like 1-2 each, so they at least get one. slowly adding to the amount of bsfl they get.
my first group started laying...
we picked up 10 coturnix/pharaoh quail this weekend (the lady said they were born on june 11). we have a coop set up for them.
when can we put the chicks in the coop? the coop is for them and them alone.
