Mine would have outgrown that is 2 weeks! I can't believe how they grew. I used a 4 x 4 dresser box from a furniture store. Before that I was replacing the box weekly since they were growing so fast and getting crowded. I only had 5! I like the idea of a drain hose. That will be nice when you...
I think ducks will be happy wherever. Ventilation should be a high priority. And clean out, that is a BIG priority. As you can see from my picture I just take a water hose and spray it clean, let dry and are ready to go.
On the number of nesting boxes, remember the hens will use only a few of...
This is my duck enclosure. We used a metal dog pen (10 x 10) from Tractor Supply. Husband made the platform. In the back is a dog crate that he put hinges on, so I can collect eggs from their laying boxes which are inside.

Thanks for the...
Not a very good picture of the ducklings, I'll try to get a better one. Mine are the four black ones (2 Cayuga and 2 Blue Swedish) and the Pekin in the back left with the smudge on her head. The other 4 Pekins are a friend's that I picked up for him since I was going to Ideal Hatchery to pick up...
How do I tell the difference between Cayuga and Blue Swedish ducklings. I purchased 2 of each. I don't see much difference. One of the 4 has a little more cream on it's face but they all are black with cream markings.
Thanks in advance. See picture below.

I am thinking of adding cayugas to my flock of 2 pekin hens. Do they do ok with Pekins? They appear to be a little smaller. But the color! Wow!!! We have a hatchery fairly close by that has them. They are gorgeous!
