Egg Antics are here! I'm happy to report that both Easter Eggers laid their first eggs in Week 22. The smaller grayish one (Bert) laid a beautiful green egg while the brown one (renamed Earney) lays a brown/pink egg. (as in Bert and Ernie because their hair reminds me of the EE's beards)...

LOL I love it! Our EEs are both in the bottom 3 of our 12 week old flock and I confess are not my favorite birds. Hoping they'll at least give us some interesting eggs! Toying with "Matilda the Mischief Maker" for the chicken with the pointy feather appearance- she's almost always the cause...

Blooie, I needed a really good giggle and "Dumb Daphne the Flock Complainer" sent me over the laughing edge and inspired more creative thinking in the naming of our mostly nameless flock. Also a beautiful example of nature playing tricks on our eyes, especially your first picture.

Here are our 2 EE chicks, both are supposed to be pullets. EE2 seems to be sprouting some pointy neck feathers. No crowing so far and both combs are still yellow. First 4 pics are present day back to 4 days old in reverse order. As babies, EE1 was brown and EE2 was yellow with a pattern...
