The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Ok, so one of my little guys is way different (black and yellow with feathers on the leg) than the other and I am pretty sure he is not a Lavender Orpington. I ordered lavender eggs, is that something I should email and complain about it is Lavender one that doesn't always breed true so not...

The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

I set 8 shipped lavender Orpington eggs, 3 showed movement at lockdown. So far I have 2 babies and one pip that's been trying to zip all day. It's beak is sticking out of the hole and I can see it breathing. It started piping lengthwise at first, so I'm going to give it the night and and see if...

The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Our incubator is homemade and we have had some of this same fluctuation, I think it'll be fine. Like the previous poster said, some fluctuation is normal under a broody hen too.

The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

OK, so i did some reading and i decided to put my eggs more upright since most of the air cells move so must be detached. I took some pictures so if someone more experienced could let me know if they look about normal for 5 days or if they are likely not developing that would help my anxiousness...

The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

I set 8 shipped Lavender Orpington eggs on Sunday instead of Saturday, so a hatch date of Easter Day. I have candled them a couple times using a flashlight and I don't see anything hopeful as far as veins yet and I cant really decipher an air cell in most of them :( I have waited a long time to...
