Hi, just wondering where in Canada you are. I have family in Quebec. Anyway, I heard from our local 4-H leader that they will be looking to import some new quality Saxony breeders to increase our odds of producing more Quality Saxony ducklings next spring.

Pekin. They were fathered by my Pekin drakes that were sent to 4-H Farm earlier this spring. I’m only keeping 1-2 Saxony drakes now for focused breeding. I still have my Pekin and mixed Saxony / Appleyard girls to keep Herman company. I only have 1 Pure Saxony female left.

Yes, last of this years spring 4-H / school incubation project. Only 3 Saxony ducklings hatched from our eggs.

Anyone get any new Saxony ducks yet? I’m waiting to see what comes out of a neighbors incubator next month. Also expecting hatches from a couple 4-H club Saxony projects we donated to. Has anyone supported / worked with their local 4-H clubs to try and support additional Saxony breeding programs?

Thank you for your responses. Helga is very sweet but her temperament is a bit more reserved than Hilda’s. She’s a solid layer and her eggs are a much whiter than Hilda’s. I will check into with Metzer Farms too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try check out that thread. I wondered about that spotted girl. I gotten them all together from the local 4-H breeders. Along with the Saxonies , they also bred Appleyards. She could be a mix too.

Hello, I lost 3 Saxony ducks a few months ago . I have been searching for more females ever since with no luck yet. I have one drake and 2 hens left. Anyone have any info on best way to locate some. I’d prefer not to have them shipped. I am located near Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
