    Says it is 100% silicone. So that should be a good sign. The other thing to ensure is that you let it cure for a loooong time. The curing agents and the stuff that it will off-gas while curing is just as bad as the mold/mildew stuff. So let it cure a long while before you fill it with water...

    It does not need to be food grade. It mostly just needs to NOT have any sort of mold or mildew inhibitors in it. I used to be big into saltwater fish tanks and the only real rule with silicone was to not use anything with mold or mildew inhibitors since they could mess up your fish. In this...
