    1 mistake people make when they hang it in the cold for a day or so,, is not skinning it first,, with the skin on, in 20 degree weather, it could take the deer hours to cool off

    what does soaking do for a deer? take away the "gamey" flavor,,,,,, that we LIKE lol EDIT: ta say,, ive processed hundreds of deer and have never soaked,,, thats why imma askin

    ya man,,, the neck makes a great roast !!,, and DONT YOU DARE turn them backstraps into a roast !!!!!!! make them into steaks,,,, thats the BEST cut of meat on the whole deer. alot more meat then them little silkies aint it,,hahahhaa

    mom'sfolly : Good for you!!! I think that must of been kinda hard for the first time. Bambi was dead, and now will feed more than vultures. I'm not sure I could have done it. All the deer I see dead here are well dead. dont think of it as "old" and "dead",,,,, think,,,,,,, BEEF JERKY
