That's actually a healthy, white membrane... true shrinkwrap the membrane will be fully pulled away from the shell below the air cell line...
Not chicken wire, it's not secure enough to keep them safe... look for 1/2" x 1/2" hardware cloth... and I suggest an area with solid walls for...
lol... :highfive:
X2!
Yawning motion means he is still absorbing yolk... just needs time... :)
Excellent!!
And I echo what Ruby said, amazing job making an internal pip for him... personally, I've never had any good luck doing that... no matter what happens, you did your best!
Yep, it doesn't look pretty but it does the job, lol!
Still has a lot of veins from what I can see... got to wait for the blood in those veins to recede, if you don't the duckling could bleed out very quick... when it's ready, it will start struggling like crazy... if it's stuck when it does...
Got any vaseline or antibiotic ointment w/out painreliever? Take a little bit on a qtip and spread a thin coat across the entire exposed membrane, just don't get any in the nares (nose holes in bill)... that will keep it from drying out and will let you see if it still has veins to absorb...

You're fine posting your questions right here... you've got a couple of experienced duck people watching your thread in case you need help... :)
You were just fine taking him out, some do and some don't until the rest hatch... no right or wrong there, it's personal choice... even though they...
That looks like drawdown!! Yay! The others may take just a bit longer to get there is all...
As for lockdown, I hatch Call ducks frequently and candle constantly at the end, no issues... float test really doesn't do anything more than candling, but I would only float test way past their due...
I'd say your guess is as close to dead on as possible at this point, lol... easiest way to figure out when to stop turning and up the humidity is to watch for drawdown... as soon as the air cell dips down on one side drastically, they're getting into position to hatch... :)
