Ya it's not the most ideal situation. One dog is almost 12 years old and the other is 2 years old so there is a obvious issue with the older one getting more easily hurt to. Plus the 2 year old has at least 40 lbs on the older one. I love my pets but that's a bit much even for me.

Thanks for the advice. Our two pups are only 10 months so they've got a little while, in the long run we will probably get a male for many reasons (many you have said) but mainly we love our doggies and they are our family so we'd never sell them or over breed, plus it's nice to know your dogs...

Oh too cute!. Do you have both your own breeding pair? We have two females and are not sure if we'd rather pay for a stud service or buy a male pup to join our family.

We're actually planning on breeding our two lovies later down the line. Once they are two maybe, then spaying for them both. They're AKC with good health background on five gens, and so sweet, plus Willow is an amazing tracker so they have some stellar qualities I'm hoping they'll pass along.
