    Permethrin spray

So the ingredients aren't that different to the fly spray I got yesterday..... "Ready for use Fly Spray. Can be used to control Flies, Moths, Mosquitoes, Ants, Mites, Lice etc. 0.25% Permethrin, 0.125% Tetramethrin, 0.75% Piperonyl Butoxide" I'm doing the maths in that case.... Total Mite...

    Permethrin spray

Yes, I think we can get that for dogs/cats - it's pretty pricey though considering I have around 30+ birds. I liked the idea of occasionally but routinely spraying the birds/coop with permethrin to keep things in check - but I guess if its not available in the UK and there's no alternative...

    Permethrin spray

Thanks - that helps. Do you know what the active ingredients are in the total mite kill concentrate? I have also used the pigeon ivermectin in the past - so that's another option - everything is so expensive here in the UK though! Makes chicken keeping far from economical...

    Permethrin spray

Yes - I can get an Ant killer dust, which is 0.5% permethrin I have used this on my birds in the past despite it not being licenced for poultry in the uk. It's just so messy and I'd need a lot to treat my coops...

    Permethrin spray

I have red mites in one of my coops. I was aware they were there, painted the whole coop with creocote (a less toxic version of creosote as we can't buy that anymore) and treated the birds with DE. I thought they were gone, but they're back (probably the warmer weather). I'm looking for a...

    Permethrin spray

Anyone else in the UK who can recommend a product to use on the birds?

    Permethrin spray

Thank you. I'll just treat the coop. There is just about nothing available in the UK other than natural methods, which don't work....most are DE based powders. :th

    Permethrin spray

I will go ahead and spray the coop anyway, as that can't harm. Will wait to hear comments re spraying the birds - should I dilute? If so, what ratio?

    Permethrin spray

I know this is an old thread, but I've read with great interest. Would love to spray with permethrin, but can't find it available here in the UK. I am looking at a liquid "Professional Fly Killer" and wondering if it would do the same job - label says... "Ready for use Fly Spray. Can be used...
