    Permethrin spray

Yes, we grow crops. I don't believe the grain buyer told us...lol. We are required to treat this grain prior to selling.

    Permethrin spray

The didn't specifically say...but it's in barley...we assume grain mites. I just thought it was incredibly humorous since. It apparently takes quite a bit. We want to ship it asap since we're combining and will need the space. So we'll be going with the company coming out. At least that's the...

    Permethrin spray

I also want to add that we've just learned that we have bugs in a grainery of grain. We can't obtain or apply the chemical required to fumigate the bin unless we have a license. We can hire a licensed company to do it. We used to be able to do this ourselves. But we found out we can take a...

    Permethrin spray

Phenol is a touchy product in larger percentages for any living creature I believe. It's used in very small amount of Wakins liniments and Red cote spray. It's used in hospitals as a disinfectant. Lysol that the public purchases does not contain it from what I've read.

I can walk into my feed store and buy Ectiban off the shelf. It's usually more associated in this area for use with cattle. I'm going to ask in person...the next time I visit Saskatchewan if I we can still obtain Ectiban.

    Permethrin spray

Well, I made a call today and found out that Ectiban...which is labelled a livestock and livestock premise spray AND labelled for chickens, is considered class 4 in Ontario. I called a TSC store and was promptly told that a license is required to obtain the product.

Sorry you're having trouble with parasites. That's a fantastic photo! By the appearance of what looks to be eggs around the feather shaft...I believe you may be dealing with lice and not mites. I'm linking a site below that has good pics showing lice and lice eggs. I'm linking a site for the red...

    Permethrin spray

Thank you for posting this. I wanted to update my posts and I couldn't remember which thread it was...lol. This is a permethrin thread...but I wanted to update my previous posts. The last time I posted we had cleaned the coop, re-bedded and I had dusted the adult birds the evening before...

    Permethrin spray

Lol..as bad as this sounds (we didn't do this) it's sitting there with a couple feet of grain in the bottom. The rats are simply being opportunistic. It got sided with metal before it got cleaned out, effectively removing the access holes to empty it. It's on cement...just a couple...

    Permethrin spray

Ravyn! :frow:hugs Thank you for posting that pic. That sprayer looks very close to the one I bought. So fluffy butts are no match, eh? I'm going to get mine out...and get that permethrin purchased. I'm sitting here reading and figuring out the logistics of moving into the seed grainery for the...

    Permethrin spray

That's true...I'm sure there's ones I can't see. My cuckoo marans had a very irritated underside last year from something I couldn't see. The skin was red and angry and I treated him with Carbaryl. Whatever it was...it sent it packing. So no, not a dumb comment at all. :) Ok, so you part the...

    Permethrin spray

I'm the same. I wondered why there was no reply. Now I'll click and check things out. I do see that sometimes, like aart says, people do just quote without comment...lol. Ugh, all the parasite talk makes my skin crawl. *shuddering* I haven't seen lice. That's a good thing. The idea of...

    Permethrin spray

I have a question. I just dusted all the birds in my one coop with Carbaryl. I've been checking and I haven't seen anything on anyone. I've been listening to the discussion on Permethrin. I'm not really wanting to go through that whole job again. But I should treat in 7 days, correct? I'm...
