This is really helpful, thanks a lot :) so how do you tell if they have good milk or not? Just have to trust the breeder or ask if you can taste it or something?
So with that high butterfat content does goat milk even taste good I wonder?
And back to the original question of what people's favorite breed is, I hope some more people answer :)
Yeah, I feel like we have too. I've had a few threads on goats haha I think I had one asking for info or recommended breeds or something. I was debating making this one since I've had lots of other threads on goats but I figured this one could be different, fun and curiosity about favorites...
They're adorable too! That's good they eat brush :)
And ahhh okay, that makes sense. Thanks! Okay so stupid question, what is the percentages of cow milk you buy in the store? Like 1%, 2%, skim, whole, etc.? Is that the same as butter fat or something completely different?

I'm still not 100% sure if I want wethers or does or both. A while ago when I first wanted them I...

I would like to get some though, maybe over the summer. They always have goats at our local fair in August and the last couple years I've wanted to buy the babies...

Wow that's a lot of milk! And those Nubians are sooo cute! Do they eventually grow into their ears a little bit or do they stay that big? Cause they're adorable!
I don't think that I've ever had goat cheese or milk or anything but I have used goat soap before.
And around here boers seem to...
Mostly just a fun thread because I'm curious plus maybe some of the why's could be useful :)
Sooo..
What is your favorite breed(s) of goats and/or what breeds of goats do you have and why?
