I need to get some new pictures of my babies. They're growing so fast! I just watched a rousing game of keep away with some meal worms. I swear, those little show girls are more aerodynamic than the silkies lol
My new years babies are growing so fast! Tiny week be a week old already tomorrow and the other 3 on Friday!
Left to right, Tiny, no name yet (open to suggestions!), Sylvia, Skittles
Wow, how much snow did you get? We keep getting a few inches then it melts away. We keep waiting for a good snowfall.
I can't wait to try hatching ducks, only because I've never done it before.
Aww, it's so sad as they get older. We have two that are really getting up there now. A terrier mix (Rocky) who will be 13 next month and a Siberian husky (Dreamy) who is 12. Both still seem healthy but we know their time will be coming. Both have a few tumors that really don't bother them...
I would get him seperated and hope for the best. I've heard of people putting a little neosporin (without pain relief) on the area to protect from bacteria but hopefully someone with more experience will speak up.
Yes, you can tie it off and snip off the extra. I've had to do that before with a young poult that ruptured his. He had the same issue with the cord being wrapped around his leg. Just make sure to get a couple drops of vitamin water in him to give him a little boost.
So, it looks like I singed the bottom of my styro incubator the other day when the power went out and I used the oven to heat it up. At least I have a backup to use for extra parts. It seems that the still air hova bator that I have has become a parts bank for my other bators lol. The wafer has...
Tiny has some brooder mates now :) another silkie, probably a splash, and one showgirl with another showgirl still drying in the bator :) Unfortunately, the last 2 showgirl eggs died before they pipped.
