I am doing this on smaller scale monitoring overnight temps in coop with pop door closed. The six chickens raise the overnight temp 10-14 degrees with no additional heat. When I open pop door in the a.m, the internal temp equalizes...

Say! How much warmer do you think the plastic wrap (LOL) keeps the run compared to outdoor temp? Any issues with ventilation?
lol it took mine three days to venture out in the snow...boy were they miffed when they first saw it, pouting would be a good description. Then eventually they all wandered out of the run and sat in trees or ran around in the snow. They are figuring it out!
Other issue of course with dog door...
I dont know if they would figure out the flap myself, that is what I am wondering. As long as straw is laid down or the run is covered, I think they would be fine re: the snow!

My small dogs have one and it really works to prevent cold air coming in and they love to use it. In fact, one of them SITS in it and hogs it!
