Thanks for your input and sharing. Really appreciate the advice of someone more experienced. Got to go now....Got to work to pay that vet bill!! Sigh...thanks again!
This stench is different. Really awful! She stays indoors at night anyway so I am familiar with normal duck poops. She was getting pretty good at getting out the door before she went- in the am when we let her out. She a good girl. House duck!
Still poops but yuck beyond yuck! Such a stench... antibiotics? Not much so far but some dribbles and one good shot. Vet says can't eat her eggs anymore. Antibiotics. Bummer.
No x-rays. He was thinking put down. But I seen chickens recover from worse attacks...so I nursing. She ate a little and still drinking. I'm not giving up! She moving around and preening. Don't think vet has much experience with poultry. I could splint myself. But I will take her back and see...
The vet was talking about surgery for the leg but I'm already in for alot of dough. Is there a more realistic option? It's all bound up like a cast right now.
My female Mallard was attacked and had most all of her tail feathers and some tail chewed off. She also suffered a broken leg. I took her to vet and he cleaned up wounds and trimmed feathers away...and bound up hurt leg. She has meds. Is there anything else I could do for her? She is staying in...
