I adore silkies, even if they aren't very smart, the hens are amazing broodies and excellent moms!

From the research I've done the buff laced can be very personable and sweet if handled often. On another note...my 8 white cap black & 4 silver laced chicks are crazy flighty...even though they are all handled and loved on daily...

My friends polish hens lay almost daily...they just take a few days off here and there...

They average about 190-200 ish eggs a year, but unless handled constantly as babies and teens and basically their whole life, they are kind of flighty and nervous
