    I've hatched about a dozen dorking mix chickens this year. All have had 5 toes on both feet. A little guy hatched today with 4 on one and 4 + a nub on the other. It's too funny!

    Is she a dark gray? Someone said she was a silver gray when she was younger and i was sad because that meant rooster. But that's obviously not what she is. I sold my black and birchen hens, but had to keep this one. So, she's my only remaining dorking.

    Of the 3 dorking chicks I kept from Sandhill I have 2 hens (black and gray) and one rooster (birchen). I'm tempted to breed them, but with those combs I feel bad in this climate. I don't know what to do! The hens sure do lay a pretty cream colored egg. Maybe I'll just keep the trio, eat...

    I've posted this elsewhere, but what color is this? It's from Sandhill and was labeled as a black dorking. I ended up with black, birchen and this. It does not have a brown chest.
