    Has anyone had an SGD hen without salmon breast feathers? She is from Sand Hill. Gray back markings are typical for SGD. We love our four girls but need a roo. I had to order chicks from Murray McMurray to get boys, so no chicks til next year.

    I think my SGDs need more protein. DH picked up turkey poultry 28% to mix with 16% layer 50-50, so 22% net. Other suggestions? Might that be why cockerel is not breeding? Girls are laying. Have calcium out.
