If there are maggots there is definitely a wound...I would try to cleans it, picking off as many as possible. I'm going to post this over to emergencies and see if someone over there has better ideas.

So was this little chick attacked by another chicken or an unknown predator? does it have injuries? are you worried about the momma hen & chicks too? If the chick is ok, make sure it has water and some feed, even it its feed that you currently have on hand, put some water on it to moisten it...
