    Crossie's beak curves way down on top and way up on the bottom. I don't think it gets much wear from pecking. I asked my vet about it. But of course she didn't know alot. She does trim parrot beaks and she uses a dremel tool. Do you think that would work on a chicken? My DH said he didn't think...

    Here is her picture. She seems to eat and drink OK. I just thought that if she didn't have to work so hard to eat she could maybe be a productive member of the flock. I've never seen her on the nest.

    Yours looks alot like mine. Crossie is smaller than most of the others and she is always one of the first to show up for food. She is able to eat out of the dishes but when there are treats she has a hard time getting any. Kind of reminds of eating with chopsticks.

    I have a hen that has a crossed beak she seems to be getting enough to eat. Do their beaks continue to grow like finger nails? Can anyone give good directions [ with pics] on how to trim the beak? Hope with better eating she might give me some eggs! Thanks!
