added a picture - the 2 dark eggs in the middle are from the last couple of days from the same hen that laid the dark egg today (top second from the left).
I had SLWs once and they didn't last a year for me... they were too docile with my other hen and were beaten up a lot. This caused a lot of stress for them and then they didn't survive through the winter. (This is when we decided not to get any more RIR, they were just too aggressive toward...

I'm thinking of culling the 12 that aren't producing so I can get a straight run of something... either Buffs or something unique (any suggestions? I want something that lays brown eggs and is rare)
9/17 and 2/12 - the 2 from my Retirement Coop were over 3.5 oz each....
Now I would like to know who is laying those speckled eggs...it has to be my Black Stars (since my other breed is BOs and from past experience they always laid light brown eggs)
Mine have been laying all winter so far, I get 2-3 eggs a day from my 3 EEs. - Perhaps that's because they are less than a year old... still new to laying.
