Yes they are on organic feed and I charge $3.50 to $4.00 a dozen. Found out that 3 of them are lightly molting! :/ Of course just molting enough that they don't lay any eggs but not molting enough to notice them actually molting. Crazy birds! :)
We sell our eggs so it is important to get as many as possible, but maybe they were having a small break. Thing is that they lay approx 4 or 5 eggs a day, I have never gotten 8 out of 8, and I can tell that the eggs I get are usually from the same hens but I can't find the ones that are not...
Wow, I love my chickens. What just happened: I heard a loud cumotion going on down in the chicken coop, so I ran down there with the egg basket in hand. I open the door to the nesting boxes and there is nothing there, I think hummmmm. Then I hear flapping from the lower level of the coop and up...
I just found an egg in a nesting box that none of my chickens ever use, and it is a different color that the other eggs. I think it's another layer! If that is true than I have 5 layers out of 8! :)
