Two in the nestbox!
I need to do a sweep of the yard... I'm betting that they're hiding the eggs underneath the shed -- I've seen some lone hens back there, the sneaky ladies....
2 eggs. I have five laying hens... I think that they're hiding them somewhere....
Sneaky little chooks... must be taking a page from the guineas' book!
That's a big egg!
I think I remember that one time, back in my first year of keeping chickens, one of my hens laid a big soft-shelled egg. I don't keep the soft ones, so I tossed it -- and it had another egg inside!
And then there was that accident with a massive egg that I dropped on the...
She's the only bantam hen I have, and I intend to make deviled eggs with her eggs -- it'll be easier to just have all her eggs in one spot in the fridge, rather than scattered among the big girls' eggs in the other cartons.
Five eggs from six hens today -- Marshmallow's already getting the hand of this egg-laying business! I'm putting her eggs in their own carton... we only have large and extra-large egg cartons, so they're so loose!
I can't wait to make deviled eggs with them....
Three eggs from six hens. Two from my four four-year-old ISA hens, and one from my Sapphire Gem pullet. The sixth hen is a Booted Bantam pullet who doesn't seem to be laying any eggs -- she's almost a year old, same as the Sapphire Gem.
Anyway, three eggs.
