Yeah that looks like a lash egg to me.
Here are some pictures of others:
This explains it better than I ever could:

But...in a nutshell - it's the result of an infection in your hen's oviduct...
All. The time.
5/11. I found a smashed egg on the poop board two days in a row now. I suspect that one of my young Anconas is confused and still trying to figure out this laying business. She was puttering around in the nesting box right before bed yesterday and then there was an egg on the...
3/11 today. I think I angered them by stripping the whole coop yesterday to treat for mites and now they're on strike. I found the remains of one egg on the poop board this morning. WTG girls, I think you missed. ;) The storm today probably didn't help either.
I gave them a pep talk...
7/11 today. Things are looking up and I got another gorgeous little white egg from my GSH girl. I got an unfortunate (and utterly baffling) notice from the RSPCA this evening. Considering that I am -certain- I take better care of my chickens than literally anyone else in my town, I feel quite...
4/11 One of my RIRs that was broody has finally started laying again.
One of my Isa Browns has been disappearing during the day. I found her a couple of days ago cuddling up to the dog under the house where I could not reach her - again today. I finally crawled under there and found this...
2/11 It would have been the (lately) normal 3 but when I reached under one of my Isa Browns for her egg she knocked an egg out of my hand which smashed on the coop floor.
Still 3/11
I actually had to buy eggs yesterday. My husband said it made him feel shameful to have to buy eggs yesterday for a cake when he has 11 hens but I pointed out that buying a dozen free-range eggs from $4 was cheaper than the $15 we make on a dozen fertilized eggs from our hens...
It actually took me a minute to register what I was seeing and reading (in my defence, I just woke up and haven't had coffee yet which means my brain has not yet inflated with knowledge and caffeine). I kept asking myself why the chickens left a button on a plate.
3/11
3 hens are currently laying, 3 hens haven't started to lay yet, 2 hens are brooding eggs (it's actually hatching day today! :D), 1 hen is moulting and 2 hens just stopped being broody and haven't started laying yet.
So as small as this number is, I totally understand it. :D Also baby...
6/9 Youngest girls not laying still but everyone else is doing great! My RIR eggs have gotten quite large and almost spherical. They're awesome! My 4 year old Australorp has started only laying a few times a week most weeks but still lays giant grenades when she does.
6/9 My 17 week old anconas and golden spangled hamburg haven't started laying yet :/ Coop is done though! YAY! Now to build feeders, waterers, roosts and nesting boxes.
4/4 today! That may be the first time yet that we've gotten 100% of laying hens laying in one day. By January we'll have 11 hens laying. Two of our girls should start laying around October. It'll be nice to actually get enough eggs to keep us going without buying any.
I've finally got the...
3/4 today. I need to stop being sick so I can eat some of these. I've got 3 dozen in the fridge! XD
One of the eggs I got was the strangest shape I've found so far. XD
