Don't worry if you don't have disposable gloves. Just wash your hands well with soap and water before and after. Be gentle. Put a little dab of lubricant on your fingers before you do it. Don't jab. Yup I'd bring her in and admit her to the observation area over night. Do you have a dog crate you could keep her in? Any nasal discharge, coughing, sneezing, bubbles in her eyes, odd looking pupils? And technically, 26 weeks for most breeds isn't too young to lay, although not as likely...- staceyj

Can you carry gently her away from all the commotion, inside the house perhaps in good lighting and look all over at her and report back whether you find any injuries or other symptoms?- staceyj
