Little old lady Cochin, Christine. Hatched black, molted out mottled, and every molt she's different - she's been all white except one or two black feathers a couple of years. 8 years old, still lays a few dozen or so eggs a year.

We had Hughes for years. When it's your only option it will do, and I am pretty sure they are the only option, I think other providers are just resellers of Hughes. Now we use a Sprint hotspot, much faster and more reliable.

Yikes, we get wind too, but sounds like not quite as bad as you get. We tie down shade cloth with zip ties/wire ties/cable ties (everyone seems to know them by something different). We start by securing with little bungees and then go back around with zip ties every foot. How do you zig zag rope...

Chickens are out and treated for mites this morning, breakfast has been cooked and consumed, looking forward to one more cup of coffee before we head out to put up the summer's shade cloth on the runs. Every year, I swear I'm going to come up with something permanent so I don't have to do this...

It is not :) They inject them with virus, doesn't make the chickens sick, and each egg produces enough antibody for 1000 tests.

Exactly! I've had the conversation about asymptomatic transmission at least a dozen times now with people who think it's such a PAIN to wear a mask. It is, but it's better than worrying it could be you who infected someone who became ill and maybe even died. I have plenty of things to feel...
