Morning boys and girls. I have been absent for a while but I have chicks available again. I have 10 five week old Cinnamon Queen pullets from cackle hatchery, all with marek's vaccination...$5 each. Those of you who have bought from me before know I always have top quality chickens. I see a lot...
Here are a couple of our buffs sharing space in the communal nest this morning...they have just started laying during the past 10-12 days...getting about 6 eggs a day right now from 16 pullets. These 2 have all the room they need to spread out but they seem to like laying right together like...

It's pretty quick and easy to build...I didn't use any plans, just built what I wanted. It's 4 X 4 and the outside is just plywood siding with OSB covered with asphalt shingles on the top.
Kudzu...! who would have believed it. We will have to give it a try. We are always on the lookout for things that are healthful, tasty and help us remain as self sufficient and prepared for "whatever" as possible...as you can see from this latest project.
Yep...it's a genuine old...
Someone was interested in ISA Browns a little while back. I have 14 that I would like to sell...they just started laying in July and are laying big beautiful brown eggs...I really hate to let them go...best layers I ever saw! I am getting 13 or 14 eggs from them EVERY day...usually 1 or 2 double...
I thought I might give an update on our 14 ISA brown girls that some of you asked for early on..
They will be 24 weeks old tuesday 8/16. We got our 1st egg on monday 6/27 when they were 14 weeks and 6 days old. We got the 2nd egg on july 4th and it has been building ever since. We got 9 to 12...
I'm certainly no expert but based on what I have read, too much protein is as bad as too little. The reason I am feeding the tucker milling super lay 22 is because I have ISA browns and it is recommended to provide them with the extra protein because they are such prolific layers. They will lay...
Not sure where you are located but I get 'super lay 22' it's 22% protein from calhoun farm supply in calhoun. My grandson get's it at dyke's creek farm supply in rome. It's $12/50 lb bag. Here is their link http://www.tuckermilling.com/ they are located in guntersville AL...their website...
Yes...I have talked to them. No problem with them giving me credit but that doesn't give me the chicks...I just wanted to replace the lost ones at about the same age. I will be less 6 more later today as I told my 4 year old great grand daughter she could have 6 and she has been looking for her...
Did I hear someone say a few days ago that one of the TSC's had ISA brown chicks. I got in an order of 25 from townline today and there were 5 dead...and two more "at least" probably won't make it. I sure wanted the 25. They were a day late and were not in good shape at all...might lose more...
Did anyone happen to see the story this month in the Georgia (EMC) magazine about the wild chickens of Fitzgerald. They are Burmese red jungle fowl and have free run of the city. I don't think anyone knows how many there are but it's estimated at one to four thousand. They are beautiful birds! I...
I love Savannah!...spent a lot of time there working. I lived in Jacksonville FL and went to Savannah every other week to do business with Grumman aircraft and other large companies. My company wanted me to move there so started checking out housing. They were just developing Skidaway island...
FYI....The berry college eagles are sitting on two eggs...they should hatch between Feb 9th (tomorrow and Feb 15th). Here is the link where you can see the nest cam.
