I am so sorry to hear this news. Chickens provide so much company and fun and hopefully you will be able to get back in the game before too awfully long. I am recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and have other health situations too and sometimes it takes all I can to get out and feed...

Hi all from Newnan! My 5 new babies arrived healthy and peeping from My Pet Chicken. I have a question maybe someone can answer: I ordered 3 Easter Eggers , one Olive Egger and one Blue Copper Maran. Five of them look as expected but one is all yellow - maybe a slightly diff colored patch on top...

So glad your girls are okay. Having had a similar situation (excep bad outcome, may I offer a couple suggestions? 1. Thr poor dog is literally starving so she is looking at your girls... Is there any local animal rescue that might foster her if she were confiscated by animal control and report...

Also some Metacam for pain works wonders. And as an antiinflammitory. What antibiotic did you use? Cefa?

Actually, the neck thing is a possibility. I have had a problem with my baby pheasants in the past where one of them slipped on newspaper and her neck became crooked - the term is Crook Neck. I tried splinting it but she died. Our local feed store was very familiar with this condition.

Hi there - chickens can be a bit of trial and error, but I do not use pine shavings for my little ones. I use paper towels because they are clean and not slick like newspaper. Shavings can have some dust and things to which they are sensitive. Also, do you have a heat lamp on them? It needs to...

She is not as fat as I would like - she has some other "issues" as we'll but I put a little moisture in her feed to make it easier to consume. I also give her canned (salt free) corn kernels and mealworms. I also bought some vitamins but she hates taking them so for now I'm holding off. She is...

This is my sweet Yuna Belle - she has gone blind over the last two years. She has made it through serious bronchial infections THREE times and we adore her. As she became disabled she got attacked horribly by our bigger chickens and we put her in with our Mille Fleurs d' Uccles and Silkies ...

Hope you feel better and your hen shows up :) I had the stomach flu last week and hubby was out of town. It was all I could do to get outside twice a day and check on everyone and feed horses/clean stalls. Awful. I would really have been desperate if one of chickens had gone missing. Best...

None of my girls would even step out of the coop during the snowfall. They were very happy in their nice warm houses!

I love this. You are like me - anything for our babies! My Yuna is completely blind in one eye and sight going in the other. I discovered some spots that might be pox so she is isolated and gets all kinds of special treats while we see what is going on. She has not been healthy in the three...

My hens have not laid in three months! I am waiting for warmer weather to get some regular size eggs! We are only getting little eggs from our Silkies and Mille Fleur d'Uccles. I have been trying to get them back laying again but have not resorted to a light in coop. Figure it is nature's...

I have three Chinese Red Pheasants. Love them - even though the female is a kook. The males are lovely and eat from my hand. Trying to convince my husband to let me get some pea fowl but he says no go - too loud! What do you have?
