Humidity is measured in percentage. Do you just mean 12 units lower than the inside humidity meter?? Are you sure that the one inside is accurate??
If it is accurate, then go by that one to adjust the humidity to your desired amount.:highfive:
Just wanted to add this for you to identify if your transformers are same type. View the labels on them. I took these out of my drawer to show the difference. Note that the low voltage end plug is same on both transformers.

What you explain is not a short, but called "an open" Meaning electricity is not getting thru. Try cleaning the end that is giving you the problem. There may be something inside plug that is interfering with making a good connection. :idunno Is the wire at the plug...
Consider laying it flat, heat up with a hair dryer, and then place between between flat surfaces. :idunno After in that position, it may relax and stay flat.

They suggest that assuming you are incubating in summer. In summer my house is warmer than in winter. In summer I am fine with those temps. :)

If you already have it then just use it. You can choose to go with less than the maximum amount of eggs on you maiden trial. I searched, and could not find any for sale to see how they are priced. Usually the higher the price, the better the results.
