Do I really have to keep chicks in brooder for 6 weeks?
Oh wow I can't imagine keeping them inside! We have cats and dogs fed on raw food and omg, that would be a nightmare. My dog already got one of my chickens once when she was chilling in the backyard when they ran out. Lucky bird is still alive tho! Thank you blukote! We are pretty rural so a...- CajunFeatherz

Most people definitely do not keep chicks inside, at least not in my experience. But I am from the deep south where it's warm most of the year (usually). There are essentially 5 stages for my birds: 1. from incubator to rest bin, which is a Rubbermaid bin with paper towels inside of a dog cage...- CajunFeatherz
