Well, a month or so later, there is still no quack but a clear raspy voice which sounds very like our former Rouen Drake. So we assume our Welsh Harlequin will be a drake :) Everyone started to molt so we should have a confirmation idea once the molting is done . -

Sorry for the loss. I don't think the ducks will ever be big enough. We had a hawk kill our drake last winter (at least we think that's what happened). I bought the predator tape after Miss Lydia mentioned it. We haven't had issues with Hawks since but I've seen a couple of them pretty close... -

Now I'm a bit more (or less confused) though. I went through her blog and it seems she actually has 2 drake and a duck. And if you look at the picture, you can see some curled tail feather on the one with the dark head. Anyway, vacations are coming so we will wait until we come back. 2 weeks... -

Ha! I was convinced it was a male and now I'm confused again :P Well I guess we'll leave the whole troop together under our duck sitter watch and see if she decides to quack when we come back from vacation :) Thanks for the tip -
