I agree, move it to new ground, do a light spray of disinfectant and let it dry and air out very well. I wouldn't tear it apart completely, but I would do my best to clean it well.
Update to my post, it looks like we may be fighting a lethal gene in the bloodline. While that doesn't necessarily call for quarantine, it DOES call for not continuing the bloodline. Responsible breeding/husbandry is another issue, but in a way, is closely related to the need for quarantine...
As an example:
7 weeks ago, I got some new adult birds, which is a rule violation for me. Strict quarantine, almost the whole 9 yards. (there pen was closer to my flock than I had planned)
That was February 25th. All seemed to be going well; happy, healthy looking and glossy feathers. Eating...
Another aspect to be dealt with is quarantining your chickens after a show- there is no telling what the chicken was exposed to. And you, your clothing, all the other people milling around? Recipe for disaster!
Having felt the need to post a link to this thread twice this morning it seems like a good time to reiterate it.
Don't just toss a new bird in with your flock!
This is a very important thread, especially since so many people will be getting chickens when the weather warms up. Buying adult or half-grown birds is always risky.
I have gone to a closed flock now. If it isn't a hatchery chick or hatched here, it doesn't come in. And if a bird leaves here...
