    I think I used a dremel tool to cut hole in plastic jar...thin fluted cutter bit. No vaseline here......before or especially after....hands off, it'll heal on it's own. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/frostbite-in-sw-michigan.74597/

    Smaller hole? Might work. I use a plastic jar for egg and oyster shell. Might work for water, if she can find it.

    Oh, I didn't realize she was blind......did I miss that somewhere? Do you hand feed/water her all the time then, like before this attack?

    I was just curious about the damage to her vent as it could be a deal breaker for recovery. Good that she's eating/drinking/pooping. Agrees with @Texas Kiki ..she should have water available at all times. Hard to have a dish of water in a crate tho, they always spill it...glad I went to...

    I took the liberty of lightening a couple of the pics, hope you don't mind. Is her vent functioning properly?...hard to see if it damaged.

    I will suggest if they are eating and drinking on their own, plain feed and water might be best.
