    This https://www.facebook.com/groups/317894515561024/ facebook page seems to be a good source. After some digging it appears that they may lift the quarantine after 120 days if there are no positive cases, 6 months if they're going to play it safe (extra testing).

    Eh... I may own chickens but I'm only a kid and I doubt my parents would agree to do that... They let me take care of the chickens but are not as into them as I am.

    A good point I haven't thought about. Why isn't there clear information though on how long we have to be without disease before the quarantine can be lifted? It makes it all seem very hopeless...

    Yes, this is what is confusing me as well. I have no date to look forward to because they don't have a set protocol. So technically then birds can still be sold in my area? All of the hatcheries are not selling to anywhere in southern California.

    By the way, is all of southern California in a quarantine? Because on their map it doesn't look like it is, and my town of Ramona isn't.

    I know of that, I just meant a link to the "6 months with no cases" requirement for the lift of quarantine. I can't seem to find any official set length of time.

    Yes, I live in Ramona and went to their information meeting. Does anyone have any information on when we can buy chicks again (tentative date) this spring maybe? please please please?
